Rev. Creflo Dollar arrested on family violence charges (1254 hits)

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -
FOX 5 News has learned that Reverend Creflo Dollar, the well known pastor of an Atlanta-area mega church, has been arrested on a family violence charge.

Fayette County deputies arrested the 50-year-old pastor at his home on Sandy Creek Road Thursday night.

The arrest warrant alleges Dollar "intentionally caused physical harm to his teenage daughter by grabbing her around the neck and choking her." The warrant states the incident caused a scratch on the right side of the girl's throat.

FOX 5's Doug Evans reports Dollar posted a $5,000 bond on Friday morning.

Reverend Dollar is the leader of the World Changers Ministries, a mega church headquartered in College Park that generates tens of millions of dollars each year.

Dollar issued a statement saying, "As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children. The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support."

Not trying to romanticize preachers, but while he probably went too far, I can understand his anger. Yet, I also find this interesting in the other hand, because by him being a professed Christian, you'd think he'd have been more passive and "loving", you know, turning the other cheek.

But I guess, after his daughter acted like TWO CHEEKS (LOL), he had to CHECK her right then and there. One of the sisters from another site I frequent said she knows one of the family members personally and after Creflo posted bail, he went home, kicked the door open, and went in on his daughter again.

But this speaks to the realities, that many children growing up in "sanctified" homes, even with plenty of material comforts, STILL are ingrates and disobedient. Despite all of the teaching and training, the daughter still wanted to go to a party that the father deemed inappropriate. Creflo must have been in 100% SHOCK at her disrespect. I guess he decided, "I'm going to give you your DOLLAR'S worth, for real!"... LOL

Creflo also has to be careful, because he may learn that while he was away, his wife Taffy was implanting the seeds that manifested this ugly situation. Taffy was on TV this morning preaching hard like ain't nothing happened.
