Howard to host conference on African American art

The Porter Colloquium, a conference on African American art, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Howard University Gallery of Art, 2455 6th St. NW in the District.

The event, named for James A. Porter, a pioneer in African American art studies, honors D.C.-based artists Elizabeth Catlett, Floyd Coleman and Jeff Donaldson and educator and philanthropist Peggy Cooper Cafritz.
