Annual Juneteenth Jazz F estival (44 hits)

Louisiana's Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor are amongst the featured acts at next weekend's Jazz Festival.
Next weekend, Arcosanti will host the Prescott Jazz Society’s 11th annual Juneteenth Jazz Festival, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating music inspired by African American culture.

Themed “1864 Emancipation – 2009 Inauguration,” the festival offers live jazz, reggae, blues, and gospel music as well as vendors, arts & crafts, dancing, swimming, hiking, and other activities.

Featured performers include Louisiana's Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, Prescott's own Cannon Fire Ensemble, and accomplished recording artist Lady "J" Huston from Las Vegas.

Lady "J' is a vocalist, trumpeter, songwriter, and entertainer, with an incredible vocal range of tenor to soprano. Originally from St. Louis, she sings and plays the blues with a unique energy and feel that reminds people why they love live music.

Festival hours are Saturday, June 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 14 from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10/day for adults, $5/day for teens and VIP passes cost $25/day. Pre-teens admitted free and overnight packages are available. Call the Prescott Jazz Society for information at (928) 237-7908 or visit www.pjazz.org.
