Joe virtually turned his back on Michael’s children since they moved with their grand-mother to a new estate. Joe's been married to Katherine for 63 yrs. and their marriage was actually over a long, LONG time ago.
I don't think they even showed much love and support for each other, when Michael died. They just walked beside each other and sat together. Joe even said something about his death being Katherine's fault. You don't say something like that, when you truly love someone and when you are together and on the same page...
